The following rules & guidelines apply to the Shoutbox:
1) No links to anything pornographic, graphic or offensive.
2) No posting anything to do with or that encourages cheating of any kind. Including, but not limited to; boosting, tampering, manipulation, etc...
3) No personal attacks against another person, website or group.
4) No excessive cussing, threatening, or abusive language as well as do not use derogatory terms regardless if it is directed at a person or not. We do have a Profanity Filter, but do not try and cheat the Profanity filter.
5) No spamming of anything. Including, but not limited to; links, repeat posts, repeat words or characters, posting in ALL CAPS, Bot commands, etc...
6) No conversation. The Shoutbox is not the Chatbox. If you wish to have a conversation, take it to PM or go to the Chatbox.
7) Please limit your shouts per day. There should not be any reason to make a shout more than 3 times a day max. If you are shouting more than that, you probably need to be in the Chatbox.
8) Please limit the number of characters per shout. Most shouts should not be more than 1 sentence and/or 10-20 words.
9) The Shoutbox is not the place or the way to report that someone is "Cheating". If you feel like someone cheated, please use the "Report Cheating" at the top of the page.
10) If you try to evade a ban by creating or using a second account or otherwise, your ban length will be extended and/or you will be IP Banned.

- This is your only warning.  Bans will be issued first.

Question:

How long are the bans and are they from just the shoutbox or would they be from the chatbox as well?

no swearing?  LOL isn't that what the profanity filter is for? For the ones who get butt hurt over a little adult language so they don't have to see it?

Good Job Xorth. Need some guidelines for the Chat and Shout

It's a shame that people don't have the common sense to know what is and isn't acceptable behaviour these days

There should be shoutbox mods. If you ever need one, hit me up.

What do we do about consistent trollers....? And I don't mean the funny ones I mean the ones who drive everyone nuts. :( How do I say this.... like the ones who all that pops out of their mouth is some sort of "I want your penis" remark? lol You know the like. Maybe we should say no excessive trolling? I don't know,it's up to you guys.

MOD EDIT

#1) Rules #4 and 5 respectively need to be changed.  It states " 5) No excessive cussing, threatening, derogatory, or abusive language regardless if it is directed at a person or not. Do not try and cheat the Profanity filter." Yet the mods seem to believe that using 1 derogatory word is bannable.  This is hypocritical to the written rules in which new users read and use to project their place on the site.  

#2) there needs to be a list of derogatory words since words like blam! are acceptable but blam! is not.   Both are clear derogatory words however one is bannable one is not.  This cause mass confusion among the users.

#3) There should be set rules like 1st offense (this amount of time) 2nd offense (this amount of time).  This will stop people from pestering mods as to "when they will be unbanned"

Thank you.  I know how to read.  HOwever, this is a suggestion for the change of the policy in place.  No longer being mods discretion.  WMIH.
