Yea. the thrill of playing on an actual number rank that u can lose or go up in def playing a role in the intensity of the gameplay, i miss those days too light!
Re: Halo 3

The fear of losing a number rank that you just got. 1 game could make you lose it and make you have to win 5 or more games just to get it back. THAT made the competitive side of Halo come alive.

I remember searching in Dubs alone and losing on purpose to a kid who had a 44 Force Colonial on the other team. I was aiming to "try and win" but overall let them win and let him rank up. And bam! Brig Gen the next game. He was so happy. but I got my 50 in Dubs with randies, played a game right after and got matched with a booster on my team. Bye bye 50. Tried to play another game and lost legit. Tried to play another game to make up for those losses and bam! another booster. Bye bye 49. Now that is upsetting, but trying and playing your heart out to win because of the fear of losing something you earned is awesome. Loved the H2 and H3 ranking systems.

Humans strive to be happy. Are you striving? Or are you letting your life slip away?

I agree man, I miss those days. Spending hours of playing competitive intense games. Nothing like it.
