What I mean is this,  What one game, (or game series) Defines you as a gamer, what brought you into video games? Has the genre of that game maintained its priority in your gaming interest? Or have you moved into a totally different one?

For me, the very first video game I played was Commander Keen. A little combo of top down view / side scroller shooter. I loved this game, hell I still do.  I evolved into racers and FPS's mostly, as the general side scrolling segment  died off, but I do enjoy them very much to this day. That too evolved into the FPS Scene far as shooter goes, Duke Nukem is a great example of this evolution. Which is funny as I greatly love Duke Nukem.

The first game system I played as a kid was the Nintendo NES.

I loved playing Battletoads, TMNT 1, 2, 3, Turtles in Time, RCA Pro Am, Duck Hunt, Amagon and Faxanadu.

A few others but I can't remember what they were called.

first game i ever played was sonic for the sega mega drive, but for a game series which defines me, it would be the GTA series. i've played the blam! out of every GTA game.

Crash Bandicoot!!

For me, my first system was an NES.  The Gold cartridge for the Legend of Zelda.  Still my favorite on that system.


My all time favorite game....Total Annihilation.  blam!, i wish they would make a sequel.
Came out a few months before Starcraft, won game of the Year in 1997.  Still think its 100x better than Starcraft ever could be.

Super Mario 64 changed my entire perspective on gaming. It wasn't the first game, but it defined the world of 3D in my eyes.

My first game was Gran Turismo 2, still to this day it has maintained being my second favorite racing game of all time (behind Mx vs Atv Unleashed)

Keep in mind, this isn't my gameplay.  This guy actually kinda sucks, but this is the game that made me a full-fledged gamer, when Mario on the NES wasn't enough.

There are three distinct games that brought me into the world of video gaming.

1) Crash Bandicoot


2) Spyro The Dragon


3) The Jak & Daxter Trilogy.
