I have started playing halo 3 recently and i was wondering if anybody could help me out with tips and tricks to help make me a better player

1600 msp = 4 hr lessons.

if you want to get better there is an enormous amount of gameplay footage on youtube made for tips/tricks by MLG pro's and amateurs alike. whatever youre looking for you can easily find on there. if you want hands on experience with someone who can run you through everything "in person" then you could start connecting on the forums here more, post your GT and ask for people to play with whether that be by playing customs or running matchmaking together! id be the one to play with you if i could but ive got my hands tied behind my back being (FWD) deployed right now. :/

You're a bit late.

Play the game a lot, learn the way each weapon works, work out how to play each map effectively. Watch a load of tutorial videos on YouTube too.

First work on your map knowledge you don't have to have a pro aim to kill someone play smart.
Try some jumps easy ones not the really hard ones. 'you can check them on youtube like :Guardian MLG Jumps'
Then you can work on your aim. i recommend playing ALLOT of Octogon with Br/Snipe.
Later on you gonna work on your strafe ' left left right left right right' something like that.

I can might learn you some things with the sniper.

Quick Scoping.

Scope' shoot' click twice on Y'  so you zoom out fast.
Keep trying this till you do this automatic.

BR Strafing.

When your aim is fine and your strafe to.

Try to jump and keep spamming your left thumb stick to crouch.
It called crouch strafing and is annoying close range against some one.

Also be sure you can shoot/jump at the same time so your aim has so be pretty good.

Grenades/Radar.

Make sure to watch on your radar ALLOT.
Its really important.

When you see on your radar someone is going around the corner make sure you throw a grenade on the ground.
So it bounces right in his feet.

And then finish him of with a BR headshot ;)

Respawn time.

Timers can really win you the game.
I mean if you are in trouble and you know... Overshield is gonna be up in a few seconds you grab it and destroy the kid chasing you ;)

Timers are mostly this.

Overshield/Camo takes 3min ' after pick up'

Shotgun/Sniper takes also 3min.

But BR takes only 35 seconds.

And a BR is one of the most used weapon ever and really powerful when you are good with it.

So make sure you can time weapon/powerups spawns.
