Tell us about yourself:I'm a university student, currently studying an intergrated masters in physics, so I'm pretty much completely nerdy. Play a lot of ultimate frisbee at uni, and a few other activites. So I'm not that exciting, sorry to dissapoint ;)
What is your primary GT?TyygrDo you use any other GT's that you would care to share?I don't use any other gamertags, any alias I use on any game/forum is always Tyyger/Tyygr or something very similar.
Why did you choose your GT(s)? It is just something unique, only made my the simple change of a few letters, which I've always liked. The ability to be indentified, through subtle changes is always nice.
Do you care to give your real name for the HTR stalkers?Marcus Tyyger, is the name i use online. My real last name, has to be hidden due it being rather individual, and myself having a restraining order on my mother, I keep myself safe, but not using my real name.
Your name will sound familiar to some people, why is that? Where would people recognize you from?Ahhh for all of you lot, it'll be from the tournaments obviously, I've done some different work, graphics...etc. But nothing noteable to be honest.
How young are you?I'm currently 19
Where did you grow up, and where do you currently live?I grew up in Suffolk, Uk. Which is a rural farmer area near london. Currently, I'm living in Canterbury Kent, for university.
What are your favorite activities when you decide to put down your controller? Ultimate Frisbee I enjoy, it's a fun thing to do with friends, I like doing a bit of bad graphics design as most people have seen. I've made pictures for people, like
Lycanlover88 here;
http://i.imgur.com/meV59.png as well as others. I've always enjoyed hanging out in the bar with my friends, and still do. Next year I'm hoping to get into paintball, and if I ever have enough money, I will finally get to go Skiing again. My skiing holiday was the best, and only holiday I've been on, and I'd love to finally be able to go again.
Do you have a favorite television show? Two and a half men. Charlie sheen is a demi god amongst men, if not, a little insane at times. As well as that, I've always enjoyed the same typical shows, "Friends", "rules of engagement"...etc. I do enjoy shows like numbers, and other programs, but those are mainly science/space related.
Do you have a favorite movie?Man, I haven't really watched movies in my life time. I would honestly have to say The Dark Knight has been my favourite. It is played well, and I have always enjoyed "darkness" being played well. The last Batman movie was good, but not the best one.
Do you have a favorite actor/actress? I love the way Johnny Depp acts, so between him and Heath Ledger. Would be my favourite. That is Heath Ledger as the Joker in Batman.
Do you have a favorite book and/or author? Plato - The Rubplic. Book I specifically.
What is your favorite video game of all time?It would have to be Pokemon Yellow, one of my first memories, was me around age ten. For christmas, sitting playing pokemon yellow, and that game was played around the same time, I got my cat. So it has always had good memories attached to it.
What was the best vacation you have ever been on? Or what would be your ideal vacation if money and time were not a factor? I would love to be in the Alps for a week or two. However, more recently I would love to be able to go to america, and see what a large MLG tournament is like, or a Lan. As it is difficult in England to find any large ones.
Do you have a favorite band and/or musician? Tl;DR Mode :- Rock/Alternative music for the most, but enjoy lots of things, DnB, dubstep, Trance...etc
Long mode!
What got you into gaming in general? Real console/PC gaming. Funnily enough, was when I was doing a lot of sport, and having trouble at school. I was still being heavily bullied, and was standing up for kids who were being bullied, and was being kicked out of clubs for fighting with the other kids. So I had a lot of free time, I was giving up aggressive inline skating about this time as well. So to fill my time, my dad suggested WoW.... Three years later, I was into all sorts of gaming, mainly counter strike 1.6 But I gave up FPS until recently in January 2012 when I played Halo Reach. My laptop was never good enough to play competative FPS, and after I sold my Xbox, I never got a 360, until this Jan. So I blame WoW, for getting me into gaming, and it's not even real gaming.
What was your favorite or best non Halo video game moment? The friends I still speak to that I played WoW with, they were and still are lovely people that I can talk to. Spending hours raiding with them, was a lot of fun, and after leading my friends through the first complete run of ZA with them, at age 15-ish. Has been my favourite gaming moment.
What is your favorite game other than Halo?Portal / Portal 2, they have been some of the best spent hours. The interaction of characters in the second one were really well done. The slight difficulty in it, made it something I wanted to play more of.
Old games, must be Pokemon series, and Final Fantasy. Loved both of these series a lot, and still do play both.
What got you into Halo specifically? For christmas one year, my dad got me an Xbox, instead of the PS2 I asked for (I loved final fantasy 7/8). He said, it was better, and that he knew Halo would make up for it. Funnily enough, I only played Project Gotham Racing for a long time. When I finally got around to playing Halo, I loved it, spent a lot of hours, just running the campaign. As my family and I couldn't afford to play online.
How long have you been playing Halo? Online, I've only been playing since January 2012.
Offline, I played the original Halo, Halo 2, and I believe Halo 3. However, since playing reach. I have gone back and bought/played through every single Halo game.
Which Halo is your favorite and Why?Halo Reach, it has been the one that has made me part of a larger community and meet some great people. I don't see games, as just something you can do for a few minutes and be happy. If you're online, you can meet and talk to people who you would never have the chance to meet in life. It opens doors that people don't have access to, for me. Recently that has been what Reach has done for me, and it's turned out great.
What is your favorite gametype and map?Living Dead - Reflection.
The only reason for this, was whilst playing split screen, drinking with a friend. In the living dead playlist, there was a typical 12 year old boy, telling me I was "cheating" by one shoting him with my pistol (headshots) and how that didn't give him a chance to kill me. I was ignoring this, and the next round, he was with us on the human team. He started shouting down the mic, "I hate all of you, you're taking all MY kills". He then sprints down the dragon corridor, my friend and I were watching as he said "Right, now watch how a pro does it guys". A zombie then fly's through the doorway and kills him. Hearing him scream like a small girl, and start swearing like a sailor, whilst drinking with a friend has been the funniest Halo Reach moment, and why I always love playing that gametype and map. It always makes me smile.
What is your controller button layout and sensitivity settings?Bumper Jumper - 4
What Monitor/TV do you play on? It's the 19in HP L1945. Resolution is 1440x900.
What gaming headset do you use? Turtle Beach XL1's.... however, they are currently pretty much broken, so i'm looking to get a new headset soon.
What do you think Halo 4 will do for the general Halo community?Given by how it has taken "mainstream" aspects from other FPS and placed a spin on it, I think it'll bring in some more members and hopefully build up a bigger base. It may not be the game die hard Bungie fans want but it isn't Bungie, they are off making a new sci-fi FPS apparently. So 343i have a lot to do and with the look of the new forge...etc I think the gameplay will be rather solid and will make for a bigger community. It might not be perfect but nothing is, just make the most of what we get given.
What is your favorite thing about Halotracker? How welcoming the community is, from the day I joined, I could tell that people were friendly. Some were more immature than others, but that's life. The fact that people say "hi" and talk while having a personality to them and not just Halo, made for a nice place to play a game i enjoy with people that are nice. If Halotracker did anything, it brought me in for the stats, and I stayed and helped out for the people.
Please tell us 3-5 things about you that are interesting or that people may not know, but make 1 thing a lie. Which one of these, is a lie?
1. Whilst skiing in France, I was asked to help me friend up and out of a foresty area. In doing so, we crossed over a chairlift route and I was hit in the head by a chairlift.
2.
http://tinyurl.com/bqayu3w Here is a picture of a car crash I had, on a day of one of my A level exams. I then went on to boss out a 98% in the exam.
3. I have an energy sword tattoo'd on my wrist. This was done recently.
4. I once had a job creating graphics work for people. But when I got a new laptop I lost my Photoshop cracked CD, so had to stop making pictures.
5. Three years ago, I dyed my hair red. It stayed red for 3 days, however it then turned pink and stayed pink for two months.
And possibly the most important question......
Well, I flipped a coin, it says under. So lets go under. xD
Do you have any shout outs or final comments for all your adoring fans? Thank you! I love you all. ^_^ Also, keep a close eye on Halotracker for the next short while. There is going to be the biggest tournament I've done, and the HTR has ever seen on it's way. It's going to be huge, it's going to help charity, and you guys will love to be a part of it.
Well that is all the questions we have. I would like to extend a huge thank you from everyone at Halotracker for taking your time to do this. We are happy to have you in the Halotracker community!
