ONI: SWORD BASE
Campaign challenge goals:
-Complete level with score of 50,000-
-Earn a Sunday Driver medal-

(Get 15 splatters in a row without dying)
-Jack a total of 5 ghosts-
x5
-Bonus Objective: Earn a Killionaire medal-

(Kill 10 enemies in the blink of an eye) SKULLS TO USE-This challenge is one of the tougher ones in terms of getting the special HTR par score of 50l,000 that is needed. I would recommend turning on at least 4 skulls and maybe 5 to be on the safe side but it is more than possible to do it with just 4. On Legendary this can definitely be done with just 3 skulls. Here is a list of skulls I recommend to turn on:
-Famine: Dropped weapons have much less ammunition.
-You will be in a vehicle most of the time during this mission. In addition there are multiple weapon caches with DMR ammo in them around the level.
-Cloud: Motion Tracker is fully disabled.
-Once again, you will be in a vehicle most of the time trying to get splatters so your enemies won't really be sneaking up on you too often. You will also have noble team helping you out when you get inside Sword Base and Kat for the outside parts.
-Tilt: Enemy defensive resistances/weaknesses are increased.
-This will make it very difficult to kill shielded enemies with all human weapons, however you should be in covenant vehicles most of the time. When you aren't there will be plenty of plasma pistols lying around to use for noob combos. Plasma pistols are your best friend in these campaign missions.
-Tough Luck: Needler fire, grenades projectiles (ie. Rocket Launcher, Brute Shot) and vehicular attacks are more easily evaded by the AI. Brutes go Berserk and Grunts will turn Kamikaze more often.
-Yes this does make the Sunday driver medal more difficult but it's better than having multiple grenades being thrown at you at mach 10 speed with the catch skull on. Also, I don't recommend this skull for a legendary run.
-Thunderstorm: All enemies are more difficult.
-This one is just to be safe if you don't feel confident with reaching 50,000. This will upgrade your enemies' rank. For example, when you would normally see an elite minor you'll instead see an elite leader or ultra. It's much easier to complete this challenge without this skull though.
WEAPONS-Just a couple of weapons you should have at all times
-Plasma pistol: It's very important to have this at all times. With the tilt skull on you are going to need this to pop those elite shields. Even if you decide to play without the tilt skull it's important to have this for EMP blasting and hijacking those 5 ghosts.
-DMR: This will be one of your starting weapons. There are plenty of weapon caches around the level. Always try and keep it fully loaded. Rack up those head shots with this weapon as they will give you more points.
PART 1: COURTYARD
-Sword Base is being attacked by the Covenant! The level starts off by dropping you, Kat and a few marines in the courtyard of the facility where a horde of covenant awaits. First off take out the four advancing grunts who decide they can take on a couple of Spartans by themselves. Then watch for a couple of jackals on the left ramp. Here is your first opportunity to swap out for a plasma pistol. Go up that left ramp and stay close to the wall and you'll find a dead marine with some extra DMR ammo and a health pack. Watch out for couple more jackals that advance down the walkway. Take out most of the grunts and jackals in the courtyard from here.
-Now advance down the walkway as far as possible. This will force Kat to be more aggressive and she will distract the elites so you can pop out and use the plasma pistol/DMR combo(noob combo) on them. When all the elites are dead some skirmishers will advance on you. Take them out no problem.
-Note: You'll find a sniper rifle towards the end of the left walkway on the railing. DON'T PICK IT UP YET! With the tilt skull on it will be useless on elites for one reason. Another reason is that you will come back to the courtyard later in the level where it will be more useful.
Look for the video at the bottom of this walkthrough if you want to try and get your killionaire bonus before you start this first part.PART 2: GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN!
-Go down the road and you'll find your first(and sadly only) target locator in the campaign. Those wraiths on your lawn! Get them off! Finish off the remaining covenant and remember to pick up a fresh plasma pistol if you haven't already. A pelican will drop a warthog for you but don't take it. Now you have choice to after the AA gun(right) or the Comm array(left). I prefer going right first towards the AA gun but you can take either way. Take the right path on foot and you'll find three grunts and a ghost. Kill the grunts and hijack the ghost as required!

You can get the Achievement "Two Corpses in One Grave" by using the target locator and killing both wraiths with one strike. This is tough to do on heroic though and you may end up not killing either of them so I would save this for a run through on Normal difficulty.
AA Gun: Continue on down the road in the ghost and you'll come up to the building with AA gun(Outpost firefight level). There will be enemies swarming the building. Splatter as many as you can and retreat back up the road when your health gets low. A drop ship will eventually come once you kill enough enemies. Use the terrain to take cover when needed and get out and noob combo the ranger elites as they are dangerous because they may have concussion rifles. 2 more ghosts will be dropped as well for more hijacking opportunities. Kill all the other enemies including the elite general with the plasma launcher on top of the building before you try hijacking those ghosts. He can ruin your day very quickly with a lucky plasma launcher shot. There is a whole bunch of DMR ammo inside the building on the back wall and at the top of the building next to the switch as well.
Tip from rabbitfish
A cheeky way to rack up a high score on this level without putting much effort into it is to hijack a wraith, then when you get to the sub mission activating the anti air turrets, instead of pressing the button after all enemies are dead, you can shoot the phantoms continually because they never stop spawning. This method allows you to reduce the number of skulls making it slightly easier.
Bonus Tip: You will have the best chance of splattering an enemy when they are being distracted by Kat or the marines. Also when trying to get splatters, focus on the grunts first. If you have the tough luck skull on and kill the elites first, the grunts will go kamikaze on you and you won't be able to splatter them.
Bonus Tip: An easier way to get your 5 ghost hijacks is to save the ghost with the elite in it for last, hijack him, get out and run away, let him get back in, and then hijack him again! Repeat that until you get your 5 hijacks. The first ghost you encounter on the path to the right may have an elite or a grunt in it. If it has an elite feel free to do it there as it's much easier with that one.
Bonus Tip: After you activate the AA gun look for a phantom that drops down. Give it a couple of shots with the DMR before the AA gun destroys it and you'll get credit for the kill. Free Points!
Here is a video showing some of these tips:
-Once you have activated the AA gun you will be asked to proceed on towards the Comm array. Before you leave the AA gun area, look in the small open structure to the far side of the area. Grab the sniper rifle in there and then continue on down the path in your ghost. You'll find a couple of ghosts, some elites and some grunts blocking your path. Pull your sniper out and snipe down the two ghosts. Don't snipe the enemies in the ghost but the ghosts themselves or else another enemy will hop in and replace his fallen comrade. If you run out of snipe ammo try and use the DMR to finish them off. You can also use the plasma launcher to help do this. Now you are free to go for some more splatters. Swap your sniper rifle out with a plasma pistol before you leave this area.
Comm Array:-Continue on to the Comm array. If you still don't have your Sunday driver medal, there are few more enemies here to splatter. If you do have it then get to work with your DMR on the grunts and your combos on the elites. Or you can just shoot them all with your ghost which would be more fun. Once you kill all your enemies in the closest building I recommend going to hijack that annoying revenant before activating the first switch. Once you do both of these things, a drop ship will come and hand you some skirmishers and some grunts to pick off. Once you get that done go up to the far building and activate the Comm array. A pelican will then drop off a gauss hog for you to take. Take it and don't let Kat or the marines drive!
Bonus Tip: There is a rocket launcher in the room on the third floor of the building where you activate the second switch. This could come in handy for an upcoming part of the mission.
-Head back to Sword Base and there will be a bunch of revenants and a ghost back on your lawn. Get them the hell off! Let the your gunner do all the work and stay out of the way of revenant fire and you should be fine.
PART 3: OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE
-Once your lawn is clear you will head back into the courtyard of Sword Base. Drive your gauss hog up as far as you can go up to the road blocks then hop into the gunner seat. Some covenant will start to advance down the road towards you. Light them up! Once you are done head up to the courtyard and you'll find the door to Sword Base open. Unfortunately there are a couple of hunters in your way. Now you can go up and get that sniper you left on the railing at the beginning of the mission. Snipe them where they are weak(the lower back and neck). You should be able to kill at least one of them if you hit all your shots where it is weak. Chuck stickies and frags at the other one if you run out of snipes. If you grabbed those rockets back at the comm array, then definitely use them. If you still haven't killed them you can be brave and grab a shotgun for some close range combat. Once you kill them there will still be an elite and a couple of grunts so watch out for them.
Bonus Tip: There is a way you can get the gauss hog over the road blocks so you can use it to mess up those hunters. Here's a video made by rabbitfish showing how:
-Go up the elevator and you'll be let out into a room with some grunts and an elite. The elite will have a concussion rifle on legendary so try and let Kat advance on him and distract him before you go to try and combo him. Proceed on into the atrium(Sword Base map from matchmaking). Now we have a nice little video brought to us again by rabbitfish. Big thanks to him. It will show you how to get through the atrium without killing a single enemy!
Now if you think you need the points you can proceed up the atrium normally. You'll have a whole squad of marines and noble team helping you on your way with you on your way. Work your way up picking off grunts and jackals and doing combos on the elites. If the elites are too far away you can always pepper them with individual shots from the plasma pistol. Once you get to the top one of the toughest enemies in the game will be waiting for you. An elite general with a fuel rod gun. He'll be on the 3rd floor balcony at the top of where red lift normally is in matchmaking. When he isn't paying attention run across the bridge leading to the side he is on. Make sure you've taken care of all the other enemies on that side before you do this. Quickly advance on him when he isn't looking and try and give him the old noob combo before he gets a shot off. If you can't get to him or wait too long he will move outside where he becomes tougher to kill.
-Outside will be the final encounter of the mission. A number of banshees and a phantom will all be flying around waiting for you to destroy them. Before you do this you'll have to take on a couple of spec op elites(invis elites). There will be plenty of rocket ammo around so this should be no prob. If the fuel rod elite made his way out there then it becomes a bit more difficult. With the tilt skull on, rockets won't affect his shields like they should. Try and pepper him with plasma pistol shots from long range. Avoid his fuel rod shots and once you get his shields down pop him in the head with a DMR shot. This is easier said than done so expect to be frustrated. Once you've cleared the area finish off any banshees and you're done!
Bonus Requirement Tip: Earn a KIllionaireYou can get this right at the beginning if you are quick. When the mission starts move up the ramp on the right and take care of the elite there. Wait until your shields are full and start sprinting along the top of the ledge against the wall past all the enemies. Turn the corner and stay on top of the ledge until you pass the skirmishers then drop down into the garage where the target locator is. Pick the locator up and wait until the covenant congregate on the road behind you, then have at them with the locator! This may take a couple of tries to get the hang of so keep at it. Here is a video I made showing how to do this:
-Now if you do this you may only manage to kill one wraith with the remaining locator shot. You have two options in dealing with the second one. You can sneak around the rock hill on the right and try and hijack it. And you'll also find a rocket launcher on that same rock hill so you can blast it away if you'd like.
-Also, this is very difficult to do on legendary. If you leave 1 shot in the locator and leave it in the garage it will be there when you get back. It's possible to get a killionaire on the enemies that advance on you here with a well placed shot.
