WINTER CONTINGENCY
Campaign challenge goals:
-Complete level with score of 20,000-
-Get 20 Plasma pistol Kills-
X 20
-Earn a Rampage medal-

(Kill 40 enemies in a row without dying)
-Bonus Objective: Earn a Vehicular Manslaughter Medal

(splatter 10 enemies in a row without dying) SKULLS TO USE-In order to hit the challenge score some or all skulls will need to be on. Skulls add score multipliers as well as added effects than can help you achieve your objective. Below is a list of recommended skulls to activate.
-Catch: NPCs throw twice as many grenades. NPCs always drop two grenades when dying.
-Double the grenades coming at you but those suicide Grunts may land you a multi kill and having more stickies around can help you take out Elites or other nasties!
-Cloud: Motion Tracker is fully disabled.
-The whole level you have Noble team with you practically. This is one level you can get away with having it on as it is fairly linear and you have a fire team with you at all times.
-Thunderstorm: All enemies go up a grade. Aka harder.
-Needed to hit the 20,000 score for the challenge. One of the better score multipliers too.
-Cowbell: Physics effects are tripled. Explosions and melee attacks launch characters and objects farther. Damage does not increase.
-Won't add a multiplier to the level but can help with grenades taking out more enemies for kill multipliers.
WEAPONS-For this walkthrough you pretty much only need three weapons.
-M6 Magnum Pistol: Out of your default weapons make sure you keep this one at all times! You'll need it for headshots. The AR that you start with can't do this.
-Plasma pistol: Picking this up as soon as you can is a must. One of the challenges is to get 20 kills with it so make sure you have it on you at all times. It's pretty easy to take out the grunts with it and great for draining the shield of Elites, then head shooting with you Magnum or DMR for a one-two punch. Make sure you are constantly swapping it out for a new one throughout the level so you always have one with lots of charges.
-DMR: You won't come across the DMR until later on in the game.(when you get to "Skeleton crew") but it is a worthy successor to the magnum you have carried throughout the level up until this point. it has less recoil and its shot carries a bigger magazine. Again, use this for headshot especially when picking off tougher enemies like Elites or Jackals.
PART 1: NOBLE TEAM
-The first level is broken into 3 parts. The level starts out with you being taken to a DZ to check out signs of insurgents. Soon after you land you realize all is not what it seems. You along with the rest of Noble team will be investigating what has happened.
I recommend to fast track most of the story part at the beginning I say this because one of the score multipliers is based on time. The faster you complete the level the bigger score you get. So if you've seen this before just go as quickly as you can to the first encounter with the covenant.

The Achievement "Keep it clean" is an easy one to complete. You have to kill 7 Moa. They can be found throughout the level, Racking you up some nice gamer score points and should not disrupt your game play too much if at all to getting the rest of the challenges done.
-I would recommend the strategy in the clip or one close to it for this first encounter. Shooting the covenant from the top level through the window gives you a great vantage point and makes them an easy target. as you can see some of the Grunts don't clue in that your there as well making them easy cannon fodder for you.
Make sure you pick up a plasma pistol and some sticky grenades at this point. Both will come in handy very soon enough. Drop your assault rifle in favor of the plasma pistol.-Right after this you will come across a bridge where more Grunts and Jackals have been dropped. use the environment to take cover and us this point of the level to rack up some plasma pistol kills and get accustomed to it as a weapon
-Keep heading along and the next battle will be your first real challenge. There will be Grunts and Jackals but this is the first time you will come across Elites. Make sure to keep your distance.
I recommend charging the plasma pistol to take down the Elites shields then finishing them off with a head shot from the magnumThis is the most effective way to take them down.
PART 2: REBELS DON'T LEAVE PLASMA BURNS...
You're now going to be reconning the east valley with carter and Jorge. You'll be climbing into a truck while Jorge will be on the back with a heavy gun mounted. This part is made up of small skirmishes along the road. Included below are some tactics for completing these.

You can get the "they've always been faster achievement on this level if you bypass using any vehicles and hoof it. I recommend saving that for another play through as trying to get this will bring your time multiplier for your score down as well as makes it impossible to achieve the Bonus challenge.
-This first battle is fairly easy. There is one Elite with a bunch of Grunts. Follow the path in the video on to the rooftop. This gives you a good vantage point and you can move back to the back to avoid heavy fire. Use the same combination of weapons (plasma pistol and Magnum) to take them out.
-This one is a similar group of enemies. Follow the path I took from the bottom up the stairs. As long as you haven’t gone into the left part of the building you should be able to get the one-up on the Elite and maybe even get a chance to assassinate him. Again take your time and same tactics employed all level.
Don't forget to be taking the Grunts out with the Plasma pistol!-After this Battle keep driving and follow the road behind the building. You will come to a squad of UNSC troops as they are being ambushed by drop ships of Covenant Forces. This will be the most challenging battle up until this point. Park the truck near the smoldering Warthog. Right near where you park the truck there will be a DMR near it. make sure to swap that out for your Magnum. This will help extend a wall of cover that includes some bales of hay. Keep your distance to the back structure to your left next to the rock cliff. There is a med pack. Keep the same strategy employed to this point again, keep your distance and use the plasma rifle to take out the Elites shields. Pick up and stickies that Grunts drop (without putting you in danger) Throwing a couple of these into a crowd of covenant forces can do real damage.
-You've saved the UNSC troops! Be proud but it’s not over yet, a Falcon will come and bring you to a relay outpost. As soon as you land head straight to the courtyard and past the doors. Inside will be some fresh ammo for your DMR and a med kit along with a frag grenade. Your objective is to survive long enough for Kat to close the doors. Just keep inside taking cover when needed. use your dmr to headshot the Grunts. Aim for the jackals hands then finish off with a headshot once the reel back. Use the same Plasma pistol/DMR combo for the elites.
(note: By this point you should have your Rampage medal as well as your plasma pistol kills. If you don't it may be difficult to get by this point) After a couple minutes Kat will get the door working and it will close. Work your way into the outpost...
From Robo301:
Tip for the bonus requirement: Earn a Vehicular Manslaughter medal
First off, don't let Carter or Jorge in your car as they can steal your kills. Now after you leave Carter and Jorge behind drive down the path and stay to the right. Every time the road splits just keep staying to the right and ignore Kat. There will be some skirmishers along the road which you can try to splatter but no big deal if you can't. Anyways, you'll eventually come to the bottom where you will be asked to defend you troops. When you drive up you'll see a destroyed warthog in the middle of the road. Quickly get out and chuck a grenade just to the left of it. This will clear the road for some easy splatters. Quickly get back in your car and get out of the way of the drop ship until it leaves. Now just wait until your enemies creep onto the road towards your troops and have at them. If you don't get the medal on the first wave there will be a second drop ship coming so no worries.
PART 3: SKELETON CREW
The last section on the level is quite short but can be frustrating if you are not prepared for it.
You've just been shut inside the compound and soon after you make your way into the interior you will come across a dead body on the floor. After the cut scene you will be right in the thick of battle again. Make sure you pick up a DMR on the wall in front of you.(swap out the AR)
Keep your distance and use the AR to headshot the Jackals, and Grunts. as long as you don't let them advance to far to you this should be fairly easy. Make sure to pick up a new Plasma pistol if you need one!
One you pick them all off you will turn right and in a tunnel will be a group of Grunts. My advice is to try and stick one of them. they will be all close together making it easy to pick up a multikill.
As the strategy in the video suggests best combo for finishing this easily is the plasma pistol/DMR combo. (AKA Noob combo) This will be the toughest challenge all level as one of the two elites will have a sword but if you take your time and do it right, should be pretty easy in the end.
That’s it! You finished the level. If everything went well you should have completed the objectives for the challenge. make sure to check over on Bungie.net then submit your score
